The Midweek Rut

The midweek. The routine, the go to work, finish work, hobby time, sleep repeat.
As you might be aware, i’m writing an article everyday this year, so far we are on day 25 and i’m actually quite enjoying it. To never fear a challenge, i also challenged myself to posting a picture everyday this year, as a way to look back and think, damn i did a lot.

glenn-carstens-peters-190592The weekends are great, I do some fantastic activities, go to the cinema, see friends hang out and I use it as my time to write articles normally. That’s not the problem.

What I struggle with the most is the midweek, its so repetitive and I feel that this resonates with a lot of people. I wonder if you can truly mix up and do something different every single day, including your midweek. There are always going to be commitments, the chores you do the preparation for work or whatever you do i get that, but could you do something different?

See I think that this is a really interesting concept, say you work 9-5 every weekday, you spend an hour in the gym, and an hour eating etc. Say you go to sleep at 11, what are you filling those four hours spare with? I’d love to know, because i struggle to think of different things to do each day. At the moment i’m learning Spanish, i’m reading a lot and listening to podcasts but i truly feel that there could be more. Maybe its just finding out what that is…

If your life depended on it, what you do something different everyday? What would you do?
