The One Journaling Trick That Will Give Every Day A Purpose

You will see endless articles on the internet highlighting how bloody brilliant journaling is. From Richard Branson and his little black book, to endless famous CEO’s and business leaders sharing this same habit. Firstly, what’s stopping you from keeping a journal? I’ll warn you now, this article is heaving with buzzwords but from my own experience, I cannot recommend daily journaling enough.

Journaling is really important for clarity, focus and any other buzzword you want to insert here. I think the culprit of the age of the internet and the constant distractions we face, daily journalling is the key to removing some of that noise. Before I get to the one trick to help with your journaling, I briefly want to mention why journaling is so beneficial for you. If you want to be the most productive, goal achieving person you can be, you need to be journaling now.

Mindfulness
Journaling can bring you into this state of mindfulness and clarity. The daily frustrations, struggles or built up stress like that guy who nearly spilt coffee all over you because he was on the phone. What I am suggesting is that you become more centered and engaged with your thoughts by journaling.

Creativity

Jotting your own thoughts paper can help with your creativity. Its not uncommon to be coming up with new and fresh ideas by journal-ling daily, it will allow you to think more deeply about what you want to achieve

Top trick

Once you get the hang of having a journal, you have gained a level of clarity and formed a habit of daily journaling its now time to put this magical skill into boosting your productivity.

One of the advantages of daily journaling is the ability to think about what you want to achieve. They are your most thought about thoughts. Its now time to start implementing these into objectives.

The reminders app on your phone is actually a fantastic way (but any to do list app could work) to achieve daily success. Break your daily journaling goals into some objectives you want to achieve today. It could something like:

I want to write and publish three blogs today

I want to speak to three new people today

I want to read / listen to that book i keep meaning to.

What this will do is it will burn away in your pocket waiting for you to give it that cruical tick and complete the day. It will give your days more meaning, more pupose and you will have more energy as a result.

I hope you found this useful, there are other apps out there such as streaks. I use this one a lot like reminding me to keep up with learning Spanish for 30 minutes a day.
